Hi All;
We have less than one week to complete the ENS process. The system is ready for GB ENS; you can submit GB ENS entries without issues. Please send at least one test entry this week and let us know if you have problems. If you have not done so before, you need to authorize your HMRC account for this service. Please write to us if you don't know how to do this. Our support team will help you with this process. But if you could get an MRN now, you already have authorisation.
Below, we answer a few questions we frequently received in the last few weeks. If you have questions about the process, it might be helpful to review them;
- T1 data with the security option already has ENS data; why do we need an ENS entry?
- Yes, any NCTS entry with the security option already has ENS data, but the GB NCTS system does not support it yet; that's why we need an ENS entry for all imports. They will probably fix this by NCTS-6.
- Does ENS require any comprehensive or waiver guarantee?
- Can we add multiple consignors and consignees to one ENS entry
- Yes, that's possible, but with one limitation. All the goods should have the exact departure and arrival locations. For example, if goods come from DE to GB and all goods are loaded from DE, you can merge all goods into one ENS entry. But, if some of the goods will be loaded from FR, you will need a brand new ENS for those FR loadings.
- Will we submit an arrival notification after ENS gets MRN?
- No, there is no arrival submission process for ENS entries. When the ENS entry gets the MRN, you will print the SSD document and give it to the driver.
- Will we add an ENS MRN reference to the GVMS?
- Yes, in the GVMS form, you can see the "S&S Master" field. You can fill in the MRN value in that field. But for now, this is an optional step.
- When should we submit the ENS entry?
- For Ro-Ro, the ENS must be lodged 2 hours before arrival at GB for ferry crossings or 1 hour before arrival at the Eurotunnel terminal in Coquelles.
- Do household removals require entry summary declarations?
- If the owner of the goods is moving their goods themselves, an ENS is not required. However, an ENS entry must be submitted if goods are carried out under a transport contract.
- Can we generate ENS entries from import entries? Also, will we have a PDF template for ENS entries?
- Yes, we already have this option for import entries and NCTS entries. After the import or NCTS entry gets MRN, you can create an ENS entry from those entries. For ENS entries, you will have a new PDF template; the template title will be "Safety Security Declarations (SSD)".
If you still have questions, please let us know. We will try to reply to them all. For now, please be sure that you have authorization for this service. The best way to do this is to submit an ENS entry.
Best regards.
